Sura 74: AL-MUDDATHTHIR (THE CLOAKED ONE) - Juz' 29 - Translation Qarib
إِنَّهَا لَإِحْدَى الْكُبَرِ
﴿۳۵﴾
it is one of the greatest trials, (35)
نَذِيرًا لِلْبَشَرِ
﴿۳۶﴾
a warning to humans, (36)
لِمَنْ شَاءَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَتَقَدَّمَ أَوْ يَتَأَخَّرَ
﴿۳۷﴾
to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. (37)
كُلُّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ رَهِينَةٌ
﴿۳۸﴾
Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, (38)
إِلَّا أَصْحَابَ الْيَمِينِ
﴿۳۹﴾
except the Companions of the Right. (39)
فِي جَنَّاتٍ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ
﴿۴۰﴾
In Gardens they will question (40)
عَنِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ
﴿۴۱﴾
concerning the sinners, (41)
مَا سَلَكَكُمْ فِي سَقَرَ
﴿۴۲﴾
'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)? ' (42)
قَالُوا لَمْ نَكُ مِنَ الْمُصَلِّينَ
﴿۴۳﴾
They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed (43)
وَلَمْ نَكُ نُطْعِمُ الْمِسْكِينَ
﴿۴۴﴾
and we did not feed the needy. (44)
