and do not argue on behalf of those who betray themselves, surely, allah does not love the sinful traitor. (107) | | وَلاَ تُجَادِلْ عَنِ الَّذِينَ يَخْتَانُونَ أَنفُسَهُمْ إِنَّ اللّهَ لاَ يُحِبُّ مَن كَانَ خَوَّانًا أَثِيمًا ﴿107﴾ |
they seek to hide themselves from the people, but they do not hide themselves from allah for he is with them when they hide the saying that does not please him. allah encompasses what they do. (108) | | يَسْتَخْفُونَ مِنَ النَّاسِ وَلاَ يَسْتَخْفُونَ مِنَ اللّهِ وَهُوَ مَعَهُمْ إِذْ يُبَيِّتُونَ مَا لاَ يَرْضَى مِنَ الْقَوْلِ وَكَانَ اللّهُ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطًا ﴿108﴾ |
there you are, you have argued on their behalf in the worldly life, but who will argue with allah on their behalf on the day of resurrection! or who will be a guardian for them? (109) | | هَاأَنتُمْ هَؤُلاء جَادَلْتُمْ عَنْهُمْ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا فَمَن يُجَادِلُ اللّهَ عَنْهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَم مَّن يَكُونُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَكِيلًا ﴿109﴾ |
he who does evil or wrongs himself and then asks forgiveness of allah will find that allah is the forgiver, the most merciful. (110) | | وَمَن يَعْمَلْ سُوءًا أَوْ يَظْلِمْ نَفْسَهُ ثُمَّ يَسْتَغْفِرِ اللّهَ يَجِدِ اللّهَ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا ﴿110﴾ |
whosoever earns a sin, he only earns it against himself. allah is the knower, the wise. (111) | | وَمَن يَكْسِبْ إِثْمًا فَإِنَّمَا يَكْسِبُهُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ وَكَانَ اللّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا ﴿111﴾ |
whosoever earns a fault or a sin and casts it upon the innocent, indeed, he bears the slander and a clear sin. (112) | | وَمَن يَكْسِبْ خَطِيئَةً أَوْ إِثْمًا ثُمَّ يَرْمِ بِهِ بَرِيئًا فَقَدِ احْتَمَلَ بُهْتَانًا وَإِثْمًا مُّبِينًا ﴿112﴾ |
but for the favor of allah to you (prophet muhammad) and his mercy, a party of them intended to lead you astray, but they only lead themselves astray, and they did not harm you a thing. allah has sent down to you the book and the wisdom and he has taught you what you did not know. the bounty of allah to you is ever great. (113) | | وَلَوْلاَ فَضْلُ اللّهِ عَلَيْكَ وَرَحْمَتُهُ لَهَمَّت طَّآئِفَةٌ مُّنْهُمْ أَن يُضِلُّوكَ وَمَا يُضِلُّونَ إِلاُّ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَضُرُّونَكَ مِن شَيْءٍ وَأَنزَلَ اللّهُ عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ وَعَلَّمَكَ مَا لَمْ تَكُنْ تَعْلَمُ وَكَانَ فَضْلُ اللّهِ عَلَيْكَ عَظِيمًا ﴿113﴾ |
there is no good in much of their confiding, except for he who bids to charity, honor, or reforms between people. whosoever does that for the sake of the pleasure of allah, we shall give him a great wage. (114) | | لاَّ خَيْرَ فِي كَثِيرٍ مِّن نَّجْوَاهُمْ إِلاَّ مَنْ أَمَرَ بِصَدَقَةٍ أَوْ مَعْرُوفٍ أَوْ إِصْلاَحٍ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَلِكَ ابْتَغَاء مَرْضَاتِ اللّهِ فَسَوْفَ نُؤْتِيهِ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا ﴿114﴾ |
but whosoever opposes the messenger after guidance has been made clear to him and follows a path other than that of the believers, we shall let him follow what he has turned to and we shall roast him in gehenna (hell) an evil arrival. (115) | | وَمَن يُشَاقِقِ الرَّسُولَ مِن بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُ الْهُدَى وَيَتَّبِعْ غَيْرَ سَبِيلِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ نُوَلِّهِ مَا تَوَلَّى وَنُصْلِهِ جَهَنَّمَ وَسَاءتْ مَصِيرًا ﴿115﴾ |
allah does not forgive (the sin of inventing an) association with him, but he forgives other sins to whomsoever he will. whosoever associates with allah has gone astray in far error. (116) | | إِنَّ اللّهَ لاَ يَغْفِرُ أَن يُشْرَكَ بِهِ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَلِكَ لِمَن يَشَاءُ وَمَن يُشْرِكْ بِاللّهِ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ ضَلاَلًا بَعِيدًا ﴿116﴾ |
