Juz' 25 - Translation Qarib

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
To Him is referred the knowledge of the Hour. No fruit sprouts forth from its sheath, no female conceives or is delivered, except with His Knowledge. On the Day He will call to them: 'Where then are My associates? ' they will reply: 'We proclaim to You that none of us can bear witness. ' (47)
Those they used to call upon before will go away from them, and they shall think that they have no asylum. (48)
Mankind never wearies of supplicating for goodness, but when evil befalls him he is downcast and (grows) desperate. (49)
And if We give him a taste of mercy from Us after his affliction has befallen him, he is sure to say: 'This is my own. I do not think the Hour will ever come. And even if I am returned to my Lord, with Him there is for me the finest reward (Paradise). ' Then, We shall tell the unbelievers what they did and let them taste a harsh punishment. (50)
When We favor a human, he swerves away and withdraws aside, but when evil befalls him he is full of unending prayer. (51)
Say: 'Think, if this (Koran) is indeed from Allah, and you disbelieve in it, who is further astray than he who is in a wide schism? ' (52)
We will show them Our signs in all the horizons and in themselves, until it is clear to them that it is the truth. Is it not sufficient that your Lord is witness over everything? ' (53)
Are they not in doubt concerning the Meeting with their Lord? Attention, He encompasses everything. (54)
Sura 42: ASH-SHURA (COUNCIL)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
HaMeem (1)
'AeenSeenQaaf (2)
As such Allah, the Almighty, the Wise reveals to you (Prophet Muhammad) and to those before you. (3)
To Him belongs whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth. He is the High, the Exalted. (4)
The heavens nearly break apart above them as the angels exalt with the praise of their Lord and ask forgiveness for those on earth. Indeed Allah is the Forgiving, the Most Merciful. (5)
As for those who take guardians for themselves, other than Him, Allah is the Warden over them. You are not a guardian over them. (6)
As such We have revealed to you an Arabic Koran, so that you can warn the Mother of Villages (Mecca) and all who live about it, and that you also warn them of the Day of Gathering in which there is no doubt that a division will be in Paradise, and a division in the Blaze. (7)
Had it been the Will of Allah, He would have made them all one nation. But He admits into His Mercy whom He will the harmdoers shall have neither a guardian nor helper. (8)
Or have they taken to themselves guardians other than Him? But Allah, He is the Guardian. He revives the dead and has power over all things. (9)
Whatever you differ upon, its judgement belongs to Allah. Such is Allah, my Lord, in Him I have put my trust, and to Him I turn in repentance. (10)
The Originator of the heavens and the earth, He has given you from yourselves, pairs, and also pairs of cattle, thereby multiplying you. There is nothing like Him. He is the Hearer, the Seer. (11)
To Him belongs the keys of the heavens and the earth. He outspreads and withholds His provisions to whom He will, surely, He has knowledge of all things. (12)
He has made plain for you the Religion with which He charged Noah and that which We have revealed to you, and that with which We charged (Prophets) Abraham, Moses and Jesus, (saying): 'Establish the Religion and do not be divided therein. ' That which you invite them to is too overwhelming for the idolaters. Allah brings close to Himself whom He will, and guides to Him those who turn in repentance. (13)
Yet they became divided only after knowledge had reached them from their own insolence. And had it not been for a Word that had preceded from your Lord, till an appointed term, it would have been determined between them. But those who inherited the Book after them are in disquieting doubt about it, (14)
so invite and go straight as you are ordered, and do not follow their desires and say: 'I believe in whatever Book Allah has sent down. I am ordered to be just among you. Allah is our Lord and your Lord. We have our deeds and you have yours; there is no argument between us and you, Allah will bring us all together, to Him is the arrival. ' (15)
As for those who argue concerning Allah after being answered, their arguments will be annulled before their Lord, and His Wrath will fall upon them, and for them there is a terrible punishment. (16)
It is Allah who has sent down the Book in truth and the Scale. And what will let you know? The Hour is near. (17)
Those who disbelieve in it seek to hasten it, but the believers are in fear of it, knowing it to be the truth. Indeed, those who doubt the Hour have strayed far away. (18)
Allah is Subtle towards His worshipers, and provides for whosoever He will. He is the Strong, the Almighty. (19)
Whoever hopes for the tillage of the Everlasting Life, We will increase his tillage; and whoever hopes for the tillage of this world, We give him some of it, but in the Everlasting Life he shall have no share. (20)
Or do they have associates who have made lawful to them in religion what Allah has not permitted? Had it not been for the Decisive Word, it would have been decided between them. For the evildoers there is a painful punishment. (21)
You shall see the harmdoers in fear of what they have earned as it is about to fall on them. But those who believe and do good deeds shall live in the meadows of the Gardens and from their Lord they will have all that they desire that is the great bounty. (22)
This is the glad tidings that Allah gives to His worshipers, who believe and do good works. Say: 'For this I ask of you no wage except the love of the (Prophet's) relatives. We will add good to whosoever gains a good deed. Allah is the Forgiving and the Thanker. ' (23)
Or do they say: 'He has forged a lie about Allah? But if Allah wills He could set a seal upon your heart. Allah wipes out falsehood and verifies the truth by His Words. He knows the innermost of the chests. (24)
It is He who accepts the repentance of His worshipers and pardons their evil deeds. He has knowledge of what you do. (25)
He answers those who believe and do good deeds, and He increases them from His bounty. But for the unbelievers there is a terrible punishment. (26)
If Allah had expanded His provision to His worshipers, they would become tyrannical in the earth, but He sends down to them what He will in due measure; He is Aware and sees His worshipers. (27)
It is He who sends down rain for them after they despaired, and He unfolds His Mercy. He is the Guardian, the Praised. (28)
Among His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the crawling things which He has dispersed in them. If He will, He is Able to gather all of them. (29)
If affliction befalls you, it is what your own hands have earned, but He pardons a lot. (30)
You are not able to frustrate Him in the earth, nor do you have a guardian and a helper other than Allah. (31)
And among His signs are the ships that run on the sea like mountains and (32)
if He will, He calms the wind so that they remain motionless upon its back, surely, there are signs in this for every thankful, patient (person). (33)
Or, He wrecks them for what they have earned, but He pardons a lot. (34)
Those who dispute Our verses may know that they have no asylum. (35)
That which you have been given is but the enjoyment of the present life. Better and more enduring is that which Allah has for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord. (36)
And those who avoid the major sins and indecencies and, when angered, forgive; (37)
those who answer their Lord, establish the prayers, and their affairs are by consultation; who spend of that which We have given them, (38)
and when harmed they become victorious. (39)
The recompense of a sin is a sin like it, but whosoever forgives and seeks to reform, his wage will be with Allah. Surely, He does not love the harmdoers. (40)
And whosoever harms after he has been harmed there is no blame upon them. (41)
The blame is only against those who wrong people, and are wrongfully insolent in the earth, for them there is a painful punishment. (42)
Surely, he who bears patiently and forgives indeed that is true constancy. (43)
He whom Allah leads astray has none to protect him thereafter. You will see the harmdoers when they see the punishment saying: 'Is there a way back? ' (44)
You shall see them exposed before it, humbled in shame and looking upon it with a furtive glance and the believers will say: 'Indeed, the losers are they who lose themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection. ' The harmdoers shall suffer an everlasting punishment. (45)
They shall have none to protect or help them other than Allah. He whom Allah leads astray there is no way for him. (46)
Answer your Lord before that Day arrives which cannot be turned back from Allah, for you on that Day there shall be neither shelter, nor denial. (47)
But if they turn away, We have not sent you (Prophet Muhammad) to be their (compulsory) guardian. It is only for you to deliver (the Message). When We give the human a taste of Our Mercy, he rejoices because of it; but when, because of what he has earned, evil befalls him, the human is ungrateful. (48)
To Allah belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth. He creates what He will. He gives females to whom He will and males to whom He will. (49)
Or, He couples them, both males and females, and to others, if He will, He makes them barren. Surely, He is the Knower, the Powerful. (50)
It does not belong to any human that Allah should speak to him except by Revelation, or from behind a veil, or that He sent a Messenger to reveal whatsoever He will by His Permission. He is the High, the Wise. (51)
As such We have revealed to you (Prophet Muhammad) a spirit (the revelation of the Koran) from Our Ordinance. You did not know what the Book was, nor belief, but We made it a light whereby We guide those of Our worshipers whom We will. And you (Prophet Muhammad), you, surely guide to a Straight Path. (52)
The Path of Allah, to whom belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. Surely, to Allah all things return. (53)
Sura 43: AZ-ZUKHRUF (ORNAMENTS OF GOLD)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
HaMeem. (1)
By the Clear Book (2)
We have made it an Arabic Koran in order that you understand. (3)
It is in the Origin of the Book with Us, sublime and wise. (4)
Shall We turn away the Remembrance from you because you are a sinful nation? (5)
How many a Prophet did We send to the ancients, (6)
no Prophet came to them except that they mocked him, (7)
so We destroyed those who were mightier in courage than they. And the example of the ancients has passed away. (8)
Yet, if you ask them who created the heavens and the earth, they will answer: 'The Almighty, the Knower created them. ' (9)
(It is) He who made the earth to be a cradle for you and made in it ways for you, in order that you are guided. (10)
And (it is He), who sends down water from the sky in its measure thereby We revive the land that was dead, as such you shall be brought forth. (11)
And, (it is He) who has created all the pairs and appointed for you ships and the cattle on which you ride, (12)
so that you can sit upon their backs and then remember the Favors of your Lord and say: 'Exaltations to Him who has subjected these to us otherwise, we ourselves were not capable of it, (13)
indeed, to our Lord we are turning. ' (14)
Yet they assign to Him some of His own (created) worshipers! Clearly, the human is unthankful. (15)
Or, has He taken daughters from those He has created for Himself and favored sons for you? (16)
Yet when one of them is given glad news of (a daughter) that which he likened to the Merciful his face darkens and he chokes inwardly (with gloom). (17)
(As such they attribute to Allah) who is brought up among ornaments but when disputes arise are powerless. (18)
They claim that the angels, who are themselves the worshipers of the Merciful, are females. Did they witness their creation! Their witness shall be written down and they shall be questioned. (19)
They say: 'Had it been the will of the Merciful, we would never have worshipped them. ' Of this they have no knowledge, they are but guessing. (20)
Or have We given them a Book before this which they hold fast to? (21)
No, but they say: 'We found our fathers following a creed, and by following in their footsteps we are guided. (22)
As such, We never sent a warner before you to a village, except those living in luxury said: 'We found our fathers following a creed, and by following in their footsteps we are guided. ' (23)
Say: 'What then if I bring you a better guidance than that you found your fathers following? ' But they reply: 'We disbelieve in that you have been sent with.' (24)
So We took vengeance upon them, and see how the end was of those who lied. (25)
(Remember) when Abraham, said to his father and his nation: 'I am quit from what you worship, (26)
except Him who originated me, for He will guide me. ' (27)
He made this an abiding word among his descendants, in order that they would return. (28)
I gave them and their fathers days of enjoyment until the truth and a clear Messenger came to them. (29)
But when the truth came to them, they said: 'This is sorcery, we disbelieve in it. ' (30)
They also said: 'Why was this Koran not sent down to a great man from the two Villages? ' (31)
What, is it they who divide the Mercy of your Lord! (It is) We who divided between them their livelihoods in this life, raising some in rank above others, so that some may take the other into his service. Your Lord's Mercy is better than all they gather. (32)
If it were not that mankind would be one nation We would have made for whosoever disbelieves in the Merciful silver roofs upon their houses, and stairs to climb, (33)
with doors to their houses and couches on which to recline; (34)
and gold, surely, all this is but the enjoyment of this present life. The Everlasting Life with your Lord is for those who fear (Him). (35)
To whosoever blinds himself from the Remembrance of the Merciful, We shall assign him a satan so he is his companion, (36)
and they bar them from the Way, though they themselves think that they are guided. (37)
And when he comes before Us, he shall say: 'Would that there had been between me and you, the distance of the two Easts! ' Evil is the companion. (38)
Because of the harm you did, it would be of no benefit to you today, you are partners in the punishment. (39)
What, will you make the deaf hear, or guide the blind and he who is in clear error? (40)
Even if We take you away, We shall take vengeance upon them, (41)
or We show you a part of that which We have promised them, for indeed We have power over them. (42)
Therefore, hold fast to that which is revealed to you, indeed, you are on the Straight Path. (43)
It is indeed a Reminder to you and to your nation, and without doubt you shall be questioned. (44)
Ask Our Messengers whom We sent before you if We have ever made gods, other than the Merciful, to be worshipped. (45)
We sent Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his Council, and he said: 'I am the Messenger of the Lord of the Worlds. ' (46)
But when he showed them Our signs they laughed at them, (47)
yet there was not a sign that We showed them that was not greater than its sister, and We seized them with the punishment so that they might return. (48)
'Sorcerer, ' they said, 'pray to your Lord for us in accordance to the covenant He has made with you, and surely we shall be rightly guided! ' (49)
But when We had relieved them of their punishment they broke their promise. (50)
Then Pharaoh made a proclamation to his people: 'My people, is the kingdom of Egypt not mine and these rivers which flow beneath me? What, can you not see? (51)
Am I not better than this contemptible (man), who can scarcely make things clear (because of the impediment of his speech)? (52)
Why have no armlets of gold been given him, or angels sent down successively with him? ' (53)
He (Pharaoh) intimidated his nation, so they obeyed him, for they were a sinning nation. (54)
And when they angered Us, We took vengeance on them and drowned all of them, (55)
and We made them a thing of the past, and We made them an example to later people. (56)
When the son of Mary is mentioned as an example, your people turn away from it (57)
and say: 'What are our gods better, or is he? ' They do not mention him to you except to dispute, truly, they are a contentious nation. (58)
He (Prophet Jesus) was only a worshiper whom We favored and We made him an example to the Children of Israel. (59)
Had it been Our Will We would have made angels among you as successors in the earth. (60)
It is the knowledge of the Hour. Have no doubt concerning it, and follow me. This is a Straight Path, (61)
and do let satan prevent you, for he is your clear enemy. (62)
And when (Prophet) Jesus came with clear signs, he said: 'I have come to you with wisdom and to clarify to you some of the matters about which you differ. Fear Allah and obey me. (63)
Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, therefore worship Him. That is the Straight Path. ' (64)
Yet the parties differed among themselves. So woe to those who did evil among the punishment of a Painful Day. (65)
Are they looking for anything except the Hour (to overtake them). It will come upon them suddenly when they are unaware! (66)
On that Day close friends shall become enemies of each other, except those who fear (Allah). (67)
O My worshipers, there is no fear for you on this Day, nor will you grieve (68)
to those who believed in Our verses and were Muslims, (69)
(it will be said) 'You and your spouses, enter, walking with joy into Paradise! ' (70)
To them will be passed large platters and cups of gold. There will be all that souls desire and all that eyes delight in. (And it will be said:) 'There you shall live for ever. (71)
Such is the Paradise you shall inherit, for the things you did. (72)
You shall have therein abundant fruit to eat. ' (73)
But the evildoers shall live for ever in the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), (74)
which will not be lightened for them, and therein they shall be silent. (75)
We did not wrong them, but they were harmdoers. (76)
'O Malik, ' (the angel of Hell) they will call out, 'let your Lord put an end to us! ' But he will answer: 'Here you shall stay. ' (77)
We brought you the truth, but most of you were averse to the truth. (78)
Or have they devised a matter! We are devising. (79)
Do they think We do not hear their secret and that which they conspire! Yes, indeed Our angels, who are present with them write it down. (80)
Say (Prophet Muhammad): 'If the Merciful had a son, I would be the first of the worshipers. (81)
Exaltations be to the Lord of the heavens and the earth, the Lord of the Throne, above that which they describe! ' (82)
Let them alone to plunge and play, until they encounter that Day of theirs which they are promised. (83)
He who is God in the heavens is also God in the earth; He is the Wise, the Knower. (84)
Exaltations to Him to whom belong the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them! With Him is the knowledge of the Hour and to Him you shall be returned. (85)
Those whom they call upon, other than Him, have no power to intercede (for them), except those that have knowingly borne witness to the truth. (86)
Yet if you ask them: 'Who created you? ' they will say: 'Allah. ' How then can they turn away from Him? (87)
And for his saying: 'My Lord, these are an unbelieving nation, ' (88)
pardon them, and say: 'Peace', soon they will know. (89)
Sura 44: AD-DUKHAN (SMOKE)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
HaMeem (1)
By the Clear Book (2)
that We sent down during a Blessed Night. We are ever warning. (3)
In it every wise matter is determined (4)
an order from Us. We are ever sending. (5)
A Mercy from your Lord, He is the Hearer, the Knower. (6)
Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you are certain (of your faith). (7)
There is no god except He. He revives and causes to die. (He is) your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients. (8)
Yet they are in doubt, playing. (9)
Watch for the Day when the heaven will bring clear smoke, (10)
engulfing the people; this will be a painful punishment. (11)
'Our Lord, remove this punishment from us, we are believers. ' (12)
But how will they avail themselves of the Reminder, when a clear Messenger had already come to them (13)
but then they turned away from him, saying: 'He is tutored, mad! ' (14)
We are removing the punishment a little, but you revert. (15)
But on that Day We will assault them most mightily, and then We shall revenge! (16)
We tried Pharaoh's nation before them. A noble Messenger came to them, (17)
(saying:) 'Be obedient to me O worshipers of Allah. I am your honest Messenger. (18)
Do not rise up against Allah, I come to you with clear authority. (19)
I take refuge with my Lord and your Lord lest you stone me. (20)
And if you do not believe me, then leave me! ' (21)
Then he supplicated to his Lord saying: 'These are sinful people. ' (22)
(His Lord answered): 'Set out with My worshipers in the night, for you will surely be followed. (23)
Then leave the sea calm they are an army that will be drowned. (24)
How many gardens and fountains did they leave behind, (25)
and sown fields, fine sitting places, (26)
and good things in which they took delight. (27)
As such (it was). And We made other people inherit them. (28)
Neither heaven nor earth shed tears for them; nor were they respited, (29)
and We saved the Children of Israel from a humiliating punishment (30)
from Pharaoh, who ranked high in sin, (31)
and We chose them, out of a knowledge above the nations (of their time). (32)
And gave signs to them in which there was a clear trial. (33)
Yet these say: (34)
'There is nothing except the first death, we shall never be revived. (35)
Bring us our fathers, if what you say is true. ' (36)
Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those who were before them whom We destroyed? Indeed they were sinners. (37)
It was not in play that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. (38)
We created them in nothing else except the truth. But most do not know. (39)
The Day of Decision is the appointed time for all. (40)
On that Day no cousin shall help his cousin and they shall not be helped (41)
except those on whom Allah will have mercy. He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. (42)
The food of the Zakkum tree (43)
shall be the food of the guilty sinners. (44)
Like molten copper boiling in the belly (45)
as the boiling of the hot water. (46)
'Seize him and drag him into the center of Hell. (47)
Then pour the punishment of boiling water over his head, (48)
(Saying): 'Taste, surely you are the mighty and noble! (49)
This is that which you doubted. ' (50)
Indeed, for those who feared (Allah) is a secure place (51)
amidst gardens and fountains, (52)
dressed in silks and brocade, set face to face. (53)
As such, We shall wed them to wideeyed houris (the virgins of Paradise). (54)
There in security, they will call for every kind of fruit. (55)
There they shall not taste death, except the first death, and He will shield them from the punishment of Hell, (56)
as a bounty from your Lord. That will be the mighty triumph. (57)
We have now made it easy on your tongue, in order that they remember. (58)
So be watchful, they too are watching. (59)
Sura 45: AL-JATHIYA (CROUCHING)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
HaMeem. (1)
The sending down of the Book is from Allah, the Almighty, the Wise. (2)
Indeed, there are signs in the heavens and earth for believers, (3)
and in your creation, and in the crawling things that He has scattered far and near, there are signs for a nation whose belief is certain, (4)
and in the alternation of the night and day, in the provision Allah sends down from heaven with which the earth is revived after its death, and in the changing about of the winds, there are signs for people who understand. (5)
Such are the verses of Allah. We recite them to you in truth. So in what speech, after Allah and His signs, will they believe? (6)
Woe to all the guilty impostors! (7)
He hears the verses of Allah recited to him and then, as though he never heard them, persists in insolence. Give to him the glad tidings of a painful punishment. (8)
As for he who knows something of Our verses and then mocks them for those there is a humiliating punishment. (9)
Gehenna (Hell) is behind them, all that they have earned shall not help them at all, nor shall those they took as guardians, other than Allah. For them there is a mighty punishment. (10)
This is guidance; for those who disbelieve in the verses of their Lord the anger of the painful punishment awaits them. (11)
It is Allah who has subjected to you the sea so that ships run upon it at His command, and so that you may seek His bounty and be thankful. (12)
He has subjected to you whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth; all is from Him. Surely, there are signs in this for people who contemplate. (13)
Tell the believers to forgive those who do not look for the Days of Allah, so that He recompenses the people for what they have earned. (14)
He who does what is right does it for his own gain, and he who does evil does so at his own loss, then to your Lord you shall all return. (15)
We gave to the Children of Israel the Book, judgment and prophethood. We provided them with good things and preferred them above the worlds (of their time). (16)
We gave them clear signs of the Command; yet it was not until after knowledge had come to them that they differed among themselves, and were insolent to each other. On the Day of Resurrection your Lord will indeed decide their differences. (17)
And now, We have set you on the jurisprudence of the Command, therefore follow it and do not follow the desires of those who do not know. (18)
Indeed, they will not help you at all against Allah. The harmdoers are guides of each other; but Allah is the Guide of the cautious. (19)
These are clear proofs for people, a guidance, and mercy for those who are certain (of the Resurrection) in belief. (20)
Do those who commit evil deeds think that We will make them (equal) to the believers who do good works, so that in life and death they shall be alike? How evil they judge! (21)
Allah created the heavens and the earth in truth and that each soul shall be recompensed for what it earned, they shall not be wronged. (22)
Have you seen he who took his desire for a god? With knowledge, Allah has led him astray, setting a seal upon his hearing and heart, and has made a veil over his eyes, who then shall guide him after Allah? Will you not then remember! (23)
They say: 'There is nothing except this life, we die and we live, it is only time that destroys us. ' Surely, of this they have no knowledge, they are just guessing. (24)
And when Our verses are recited to them, their only argument is: 'Bring our fathers back to us, if what you say is true! ' (25)
Say: 'Allah revives you and causes you to die. Then, He shall gather you on the Day of Resurrection, and of this there is no doubt, yet most people do not know. ' (26)
To Allah belongs the Kingdom in the heavens and the earth. On the Day when the Hour comes, those who disbelieved shall be the losers. (27)
You shall see every nation hobbling on their knees. Each nation shall be summoned to its Book. (And it will be said:) 'This Day, you shall be recompensed for what you were doing. (28)
This is Our Book that speaks with the truth over you. We have recorded all that you were doing. ' (29)
As for those who have believed and done good works, their Lord will admit them into His Mercy that is a mighty triumph! (30)
But, to the unbelievers (it will be said): 'Were My verses not recited to you, but you were proud and were you not a sinful nation? ' (31)
When it was said: 'The promise of Allah is true, and of the Hour there is no doubt, ' you replied: 'We do not know what the Hour is, we guess, assuming, and we are by no means certain. ' (32)
The evil of their deeds will appear to them, and they shall be encompassed by that they mocked, (33)
and it shall be said: 'Today, We will forget you as you yourselves forgot that you would encounter this Day. The Fire shall be your refuge, and none will help you. (34)
That is because you took the verses of Allah (the Koran) in mockery, and you were deluded by your worldly life. ' So that Day they will not be brought out of it; nor shall they be repentant. (35)
Praise, belongs to Allah, the Lord of the heavens and the earth, the Lord of the Worlds. (36)
His is the Pride in the heavens and earth. He is the Almighty, the Wise. (37)
