Quran, Chapter 16, Verse 94:
and do not make your oaths a means of deceit between youIn some verses of Quran, God almighty swears by different things to emphasize the importance of the topic. In one case, god almighty swears by the location of the stars and right after emphasizes on the importance of this oath. This is mentioned in the following verses:Quran, Chapter 56, Verse 75-79:
I swear by the falling of stars, and most surely it is a very great oath if you only knew, most surely it is an honored quran, in a book that is protected, none shall touch it save the purified ones.In order to grasp the importance of this oath, one should know something about our immensely vast universe with its billions of galaxies and stars. Only in our galaxy there are about 500 billion stars. All of these stars move in a fixed orbit around the center of the galaxy. Considering these many stars moving with different speeds , it is very rare that two stars collide with each other. Swearing by the stars is also repeated in other verses of Quran:

Quran, Chapter 86, Verses 1-4:
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night, and what will make you know what the comer by night is? the star of piercing brightness; there is not a soul but over it is a keeper.

Quran, Chapter 53, Verses 1-4:
i swear by the star when it goes down, your companion does not err, nor does he go astray; nor does he speak out of desire, it is naught but revelation that is revealed.

Quran, Chapter 81, Verses 15-19:
but nay! I swear by the stars, that run their course (and) hide themselves, and the night when it departs, and the morning when it brightens, most surely it is the word of an honored messenger

I swear by the Quran full of wisdom, most surely you are one of the messengers, on a right way

Quran, Chapter 38, Verses 1-2:
suad, I swear by the Quran, full of admonition, nay! those who disbelieve are in self-exaltation and opposition

Quran, Chapter 43, Verses 2-3:
I swear by the book that makes things clear, surely we have made it an arabic quran that you may understand

Quran, Chapter 44, Verses 2-3:
I swear by the book that makes manifest (the truth), surely we revealed it on a blessed night surely we are ever warning

Here are some other verses of Quran in which God Almighty swears by other things:

Quran, Chapter 51, Verses 1-8:

I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide,

then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space),

then those (ships) that glide easily,

then those (angels who) distribute blessings by our command,

what you are threatened with is most surely true,

and the judgment must most surely come about,

I swear by the heaven full of ways,

most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say

Quran, Chapter 52, Verses 1-7:

I swear by the mountain,

and the book written

in an outstretched fine parchment,

and the house (kaaba) that is visited,

and the elevated canopy

and the swollen sea

most surely the punishment of your lord will come to pass

Quran, Chapter 91, Verses 1-7:

I swear by the sun and its brilliance,

and the moon when it follows the sun,

and the day when it shows it,

and the night when it draws a veil over it,

and the heaven and him who made it,

and the earth and him who extended it,

and the soul and him who made it perfect.

Quran, Chapter 100, Verse 1:
I swear by the runners breathing pantingly

Quran, Chapter 68, Verse 1:
noon. I swear by the pen and what the angels write

Quran, Chapter 95, Verses 1-4:
I swear by the fig and the olive, and mount Sinai, and this city made secure, certainly we created man in the best make.

Quranic Verses about Fire

Fire has been mentioned in many verses of Quran as a symbol for punishing unbelievers. Besides this, fire is also associated with other topics in Quran. One may distinguish at least the following four different topics:

1- Musa in the sacred valley, Tuwa

Chapter 27, Verse 7: “when musa said to his family: surely i see fire; i will bring to you from it some news, or i will bring to you therefrom a burning firebrand so that you may warm yourselves”

Chapter 27, Verse 8: “so when he came to it a voice was uttered saying: blessed is whoever is in the fire and whatever is about it; and glory be to allah, the lord of the worlds;”

Chapter 20, Verse 10: “when he saw fire, he said to his family: stop, for surely i see a fire, haply i may bring to you therefrom a live coal or find a guidance at the fire”

2- Ibrahim and Fire

Chapter 21, Verse 69: “we said: o fire! be a comfort and peace to ibrahim;”

Chapter 29, Verse 24: “so naught was the answer of his people except that they said: slay him or burn him; then allah delivered him from the fire; most surely there are signs in this for a people who believe”

3- Creating of Fire

Chapter 38, Verse 76: “he said: i am better than he; thou hast created me of fire, and him thou didst create of dust”

Chapter 55, Verse 15: “and he created the jinn of a flame of fire”

4- Punishing Unbelievers

Chapter 3, Verse 131: “and guard yourselves against the fire which has been prepared for the unbelievers”

Chapter 3, Verse 16: “those who say: our lord! surely we believe, therefore forgive us our faults and save us from the chastisement of the fire”

Chapter 10, Verse 8: “(as for) those, their abode is the fire because of what they earned”

Chapter 40, Verse 6: “and thus did the word of your lord prove true against those who disbelieved that they are the inmates of the fire”

Chapter 32, Verse 20: “and as for those who transgress, their abode is the fire; whenever they desire to go forth from it they shall be brought back into it, and it will be said to them: taste the chastisement of the fire which you called a lie”

God’s Signs in Nature

There are many verses in Quran that guide us to find out God’s signs in nature. Some of these verses are gathered here. It is also noteworthy to mention that images in this page may not reflect the meaning of the following verses in depth.

Quran, Chapter 13, Verse 3: and he it is who spread the earth and made in it firm mountains and rivers, and of all fruits he has made in it two kinds; he makes the night cover the day; most surely there are signs in this for a people who reflect

Quran, Chapter 30, Verse 24:
and one of his signs is that he shows you the lightning for fear and for hope, and sends down water from the clouds then gives life therewith to the earth after its death; most surely there are signs in this for a people who understand

Quran, Chapter 16, Verse 11:
he causes to grow for you thereby herbage, and the olives, and the palm trees, and the grapes, and of all the fruits; most surely there is a sign in this for a people who reflect

Quran, Chapter 16, Verse 12: and he has made subservient for you the night and the day and the sun and the moon, and the stars are made subservient by his commandment; most surely there are signs in this for a people who ponder;

Quran, Chapter 16, Verse 13:
and what he has created in the earth of varied hues most surely there is a sign in this for a people who are mindful

Quran, Chapter 59, Verse 21:
had we sent down this Quran on a mountain, you would certainly have seen it falling down, splitting asunder because of the fear of Allah, and we set forth these parables to men that they may reflect

Quran, Chapter 16, Verse 69:
then eat of all the fruits and walk in the ways of your lord submissively. there comes forth from within it a beverage of many colors, in which there is healing for men; most surely there is a sign in this (life of bees) for a people who reflect

Resurrection Day Based on Quran

Quran, Chapter 81In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

when the sun is covered,

and when the stars darken,

and when the mountains are made to pass away

and when the camels are left untended,and when the wild animals are made to go forth,and when the seas are set on fire,and when souls are united,

and when the female infant buried alive is askedfor what sin she was killed,and when the books are spread,and when the heaven has its covering removed,

and when the hell is kindled up,and when the garden is brought nigh,every soul shall (then) know what it has preparedbut nay! I swear by the stars,

that run their course (and) hide themselves,and the night when it departs,and the morning when it brightens,most surely it is the word of an honored messenger,

The Quran on God’s Love

Quran, Chapter 3, Verses 31 and 32:

“Say: if you love God, then follow me, God will love you and forgive you your faults, and God is forgiving, merciful”
“Say: obey God and the messenger; but if they turn back, then surely God does not love the unbelievers”Islam in one sense is different from some other major religions of the world. The picture of God that has been depicted in Quran, as we Muslims all believe, is a combination of love toward good people and aversion toward bad people. This has been repeated in at least 40 verses of holly Quran with a clear definition for good people and bad people. This article aims to distinguish between these two groups based on Quranic verses and clarify the image of people whom God loves.

As mentioned in above two verses, the first step is to follow the path that has been shown to us by god’s messenger. This is the most beautiful picture that one can demonstrate as a mutual love. If you do love your God, you are therefore prompted to follow the path that has been shown to you and prepare yourself to receive his love. But it is also stated that the people who do not follow the right path are not to be loved by God.

This may need a little bit more clarification on the definition of right path and people who are to be loved by God. Perhaps the most distinguished characteristic for these people which has been mentioned in 5 verses of Quran (2:195, 3:134, 3:148, 5:13 and 5:93) is to do good to others. Doing good could be helping poor people, supporting orphans or even respecting one’s parents which have been also mentioned in various verses of Quran.

Others, based on Quran, are people who:

guard themselves against sin (3:76, 9:4, 9:7)
judge fairly (5:42, 49:9, 60:8)
fight in God’s way (61:4)
purify themselves (2:222, 9:108)
turn much to God (2:222)
trust in God (3:159)
and are patient (3:146).

On the other hand, God does not love the person who is:

an unbeliever (3:32, 30:45)
arrogant (16:23, 4:36, 31:18, 57:23)
cruel (3:57, 3:140, 42:40)
unfaithful and ungrateful (2:276, 22:38)
exceeding the limits (2:190, 5:87, 7:55)
extravagant (6:141, 7:31)
mischief-maker (2:205, 5:64, 28:77)
treacherous (8:58, 4:107)
and exulting in riches (28:76)
